Stephanie Barrera
Taller de José Compañera
Stephanie is a Taller de José Compañera at the Quinn Center. As someone who is a first generation Mexican-American she can say that she has seen first-hand the sacrifices that loved ones make when they want to give their family a better life. As a child she remembers how her grandparents struggled due to language barriers and little education so she became their little translator as well as their little companion. She would go everywhere with them just so they didn’t feel alone. Now in the present, she feels a great responsibility to help others with the same struggles that her grandparents once faced. She is grateful to be the helping hand, and to make sure that people do not feel alone. Yo no camino en frente de ti ni atras de ti .. yo camino a tu lado.
