The “Drive to Succeed” Scholarship is an annual award that supports individuals looking to further their personal or professional development through education. All types of educational experiences are considered, including training programs, technical school, community college, workshops, licensing/certification, and other continuing education classes.

Award details
  • Typical scholarship award: $500-$1,000 (maximum $3,000)
  • Scholarship is renewable (up to 4 awards per individual); prior recipients must re-apply each year and consecutive awards are not guaranteed
  • Scholarship recipients are expected to:
    • Attend our end of summer celebration in July to be recognized publicly
    • Submit receipts, invoices, or tuition bills in a timely manner
    • Attend a check-in gathering halfway through the academic year 
    • Complete a brief report at the end of the class/academic term
  • Award will be paid directly to the educational institution or vendor. Funds must be requested and disbursed by March 28, 2025 or they will be forfeited
 
Eligibility criteria
  • Minimum age: high school freshman (no maximum age, adult learners are welcome to apply!)
  • Demonstrated involvement with/connection to the Quinn Center
  • While not a requirement, preference will be given to Proviso Township residents 
 
Timeline
  • Application opens: April 27
  • Application deadline: May 20
  • Interviews: June 12
  • Winners notified: early July
  • Winners recognized at End of Summer Celebration on July 26
  • Awards distributed: August/Sept (or upon receipt of bill/invoice)
La beca "Poder para Triunfar" es una ayuda financiera anual que apoya a las personas que buscan promover su desarrollo personal o profesional a través de la educación. Se consideran todos los tipos de experiencias educativas, incluidas caminos tradicionales (matrícula de la escuela secundaria o universidad) y caminos no tradicionales (programas de formación, escuela técnica, colegio comunitario, talleres, certificaciones / licencias, etc.).

Detalles del premio
  • Beca típica: $ 500- $ 1,000 (máximo $ 3,000)

  • Participación / conexión demostrada con el Centro Quinn
  • ​Se dará preferencia a los residentes del municipio de Proviso

  • Se abre la aplicación: 27 de abril
  • Se cierra la aplicación: 20 de mayo
  • Entrevistas: 12 de junio
  • Ganadores notificados: julio
  • Ganadores reconocidos en la celebración del fin del verano (26 de julio)
  • Desembolso de los premios: agosto/septiembre (o al recibir la cuenta/factura)
